Jaafary underestimates seriousness of CG, Kurdistan RegionG conflicts

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Iraqi National Alliance Ibrahim al-Jaafary revealed that “The President of Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani has made a phone call to him over the issue of deploying Iraqi Army forces on Iraqi-Syrian borders near Kurdistan region which aroused tensions between Baghdad Central Government and the Kurdistan regional Government,” noting that he looks towards ending this issue.

In a TV interview with Hurra Satellite Channel on last Saturday night, Jaafary said “I talked on phone with Barzani, and I will talk later to Premier Maliki about this issue.”

“The earlier tensions between Baghdad and Kurdistan Region caused all these concerns about the IA forces deployment near Kurdistan Region which is not a crisis since the real crisis is the political one,” he added, stressing that “When we apply the articles of the Constitution practically, the trust among the blocs will return and all these concerns will evaporate.”

Concerning the Reforms Document and his recent meetings with political leaders, Jaafary said “I noticed positive reactions from all the political leaderships such as Barzani, Allawi and others I have met and all of them called to speed up the reforms process.”
