Meeting of Iraq’s political leaders may end current crisis – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Legislature of the National Alliance, led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, has said on Wednesday that today’s meeting, held by the initiative of President Jalal Talabani, might end up with a final settlement of the current political crisis, calling on all parties to commit themselves towards the Arbil Agreement.   “The meeting of the Leaders of Political Forces at the residence of President Jalal Talabani, attended by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and the Leader of al-Iraqiya bloc, Iyad Allawi, might end with a final settlement of the current political crisis,” Khalid al-Assadi told IraqiNews.com news agency.   With regards to the possibility of an agreement in the meeting towards the Arbil Agreement, regarding the National Council for Strategic Policies (NCSP), Assadi said, “The National Coalition looks at Arbil Agreement with respect and we concentrate on necessity of commitment by all parties towards the Agreement and resentment to add any other demands on it.”   The Leaders of the Iraqi Political Blocs have met at the residence of Iraq’s President Jalal Talabani, to discuss the suspended dossiers and current differences between the State of Law Coalition, led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and al-Iraqiya Coalition, led by Iyad Allawi, along with the issue of trimming down the current Cabinet and the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq.   SKH (TI)/SR 579
