Political interests behind delaying endorsing Oil, Gas law draft, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Awad al-Awadi, the member of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee stressed that “The political blocs still have concerns and reservations about endorsing the Oil and Gas law draft at the Parliament.”

Awadi stated to Iraqi News on Monday “I think that the concerns over endorsing the Oil and Gas law are related to the political interests of some political sides, Federal Government and Kurdistan Region.”

“In my opinion, this law is among the most important laws after the Federal Court law since it regulates the mechanism of work and contracts between Baghdad and Erbil on one hand and the rest of provinces on the other hand in fields of investment, oil excavation and the financial revenues,” he concluded.
