State of Law support Strategic Council’s Law if abides by constitution

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: State of Law MP Mohammed Saadoun Al-Sayhood disclosed that his bloc will support the Higher National Strategic Policies Council if its terms do not contradict the articles of the Iraqi constitution. Sayhood told IraqiNews.com that “the Strategic Council arose greater discussion among the political bloc, which could be passed if its terms do not contradict the articles of the constitution”. He pointed out that “the previous draft submitted by Iraqiyah bloc were in contradiction with the Iraqi constitution and contrary to Arbil agreement”. If the law of the council is contrary to the constitution, it will meet opposition, not from the National Alliance, but most of the MPs”, he stated. Leaders of the political blocs agreed Tuesday night (12 August,2011) on many points, among them referring the Strategic Council‘s Law to the Iraqi parliament for endorsement.
