Maysan demands its financial share of Majnoon oil field\

Maysan (IraqiNews.com) The Provincial Council of Maysan province called the Iraqi Ministry of Oil to grant the province its share of financial revenues from Majnoon oil field.

The Chairman of Maysan PC, Abdul Hussein Abdul Ridha, told IraqiNews.com Agency that “We called the MoO to grant Maysan share of financial revenues within Petro-Dollar project from Majnoon oil field as it is shared between each of Maysan and Basra provinces according to the maps adopted by the Ministry itself and the stakeholders.”

“The rate of This giant field within the administrative borders of Maysan inches up from 33% but it is totally administrated by the South Oil Company (SOC) and invested by the investment companies related to the SOC,” Abdul Ridha added.

Majnoon Oil field is located in Basra province in the south-east of Iraq and extends to the north of Maysan province.
