Diyali (IraqiNews.com) On Monday, the Security Committee of Diyali Provincial Council said, that the liberation of al-Hamrin Mountains foiled ISIS plan to target the visitors during the Arbaeen of al-Husseiniya.

The head of the committee Sadeq al-Husseini said today, “The security information, which are available to us, confirmed that the leader of the ISIS group, known as Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has called his followers in al-Hamrin Mountains to target al-Husseiniya visitors…especially those (followers) who are near to the areas of al-Saidiya and Jalawla, located northeast of Baqubah,” adding that, “The libeation of al-Hamrin has foiled one of the biggest terrorist plots to kill the Arbaeen visitors and prevent thousands of pilgrims from reaching the holy city of Karbala.”

Noteworthy, Iraqi forces accompanied with Kurdish Peshmerga fighters and armed volunteers started a successful operation to liberate the districts of al-Saidiya and Jalawla about three weeks ago, and then secured the surrounding villages of the districts after fierce clashes with ISIS militants in al-Hamrin.
