Ban on bikes in Anbar

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: A ban on bikes has been imposed throughout Anbar until further notice, a source from the Anbar operation command said on Monday. “The Anbar Operations Command imposed on Monday (May 10) a ban on bikes throughout Anbar,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency, noting that a tip-off asserted a presence of a bike bomb in the province. “Terrorists could use bikes in targeting citizens and the ban was taken as a precautionary measure against possible attacks,” he added. Nearly 100 people were killed and 390 were wounded in a series of explosions in Baghdad, Babel, Anbar, Wassit, Salah el-Din, Ninewa and Basra, in the most deadly day in the country after March 7 elections. Ramadi, the capital of Anbar, is 110 km west of Baghdad. SH (P) 3
