Iraqi joint forces repel ISIS attack on eastern Ramadi

Al-Anbar ( On Wednesday, a security source in Anbar province said, that the Iraqi joint forces have repelled an ISIS attack on the district al-Habaniyah in eastern Ramadi.

The source stated to IraqiNews in an interview, “A joint force, consisting of army troops and local police elements backed by armed tribesmen, has managed to repel a violent attack by the ISIS group militants on the area of al-Jazirah in the district of al-Habaniyah, located 30 east of Ramadi,” pointing out that, “The fierce clashes between the two sides have caused the ISIS group to suffer heavy losses in both lives and equipment.”

“The Army’s Air Force has played a role in the operation by bombing ISIS gathering points in the area,” the source added.
