Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mahmoud Othman, of the Kurdistani Alliance confirmed that “There are disputes between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, headed by the President, Jalal Talabani, and the Kurdistani Democratic Party, headed by the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, over the issue withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Clearly Talabani and Barzani have different views concerning this issue as it is confirmed through Talabani’s message to the four political leaders called for withdrawing confidence from Maliki.”

“Talabani’s threat to resign if he is to be forced to support this issue reveals that he completely against withdrawing confidence,” he stressed.

Earlier, the President, Jalal Talabani, sent a message to the four leaders who met in Erbil to clarify the reason behind his rejection for signing the request for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, on Thursday.

The spokesman of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Azad Jundiyani, stated “Talabani respond the message that he received from the sides of Erbil meeting through a message that clarify the facts for them about why he did not sign the request of withdrawing the confidence from Maliki.”
