Indian company considers investment in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: A delegation comprised of representatives of an Indian contracting company has discussed with officials from the Basra Investment Commission the establishment of different projects in the province, a local source said on Tuesday. “The company has put forward several investment projects in the fields of housing, oil and agriculture to be implemented in the province,” a media official from the commission, Ahmed Waheed, told IraqiNews.com news agency. The projects include the establishment of two residential cities and an oil refinery, Waheed indicated. The Shiite city of Basra lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. SS (P) 1
