Oil ministry says Iraq’s exports hit $1.9b in Feb.

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s oil exports last month hit 50.5 million barrels at a total value of $1.922 billion at a rate of $38 per barrel, a ministry spokesman said on Saturday. “The daily rate of exports was 1.8 million barrels during the 28-day month of February,” Asim Jihad told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The exported amount was 37.9 million barrels at $1.444 billion from the southern ports while the Kirkuk exports reached 12.6 million barrels at $478 million,” Jihad added. He noted that the purchasing companies were 20 of different European, Asian and American nationalities. Iraq had exported 58.621 million barrels of oil during the month of January 2009. AmR (P)/SR 1
